Summary of the Springer Publishing Meeting (November 4)
Key points included:
Springer has signed with Firebrand Technology for title management.
They are evaluating DAM solutions, with eMedia Library being a finalist.
The complexity and cost of a full CCMS led to exploring a hybrid approach, potentially using eMedia Library as the main platform.
Offshore content creation was discussed as a cost-effective strategy, with final content to be ingested into eMedia Library.
The team plans to reconvene after Pascal’s return to finalize DAM selection, aided by a product review video and scorecard provided by Christopher.
To-Do List
DAM Evaluation
Finalize DAM solution selection between the remaining options, including eMedia Library.
Next Steps for CCMS
Explore a hybrid approach with eMedia Library as the core platform.
Consider the feasibility and budget implications of offshore content creation.
Christopher’s Action Items
Share a product review video and digital asset management scorecard to aid in the decision-making.
Schedule Follow-Up Meeting
Set a date for the next meeting after Pascal's return to review progress and make final decisions.

Hi all, just checking to see what our next steps might be.
Pascal is back from vacation so it would be good to pick up the conversation regarding DAM. Specifically, I’d like to emphasis and focus on the ability to store, view and retrieve DITA in eMedia.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Ian, this is your next pilot project. We are going to meet with Joe next week so we need to make sure this site is working well. Setup includes:
1. Make sure theme is looking good. Light colors
2. Make sure users can register their own accounts as users
3. Enable the AI Content generation for Questions
4. Clear away any test data
5.Test the guide along the left toolbar and report any the bugs that are not easily fixed

My goal was to get all the bugs out by having a major overhaul of the /finder/find we created finder/find2 and its going well. Not probably in two days /find2 will be less buggy than /find

I used the smart organizer and create some one to many relationships. Lets not use the Answer table unless we have time to update my DITA xml generators to support them. See: /WEB-INF/base/finder/find/components/entities/renderdita/templatedita.dita

Chirs - maybe we should add that tool that goes Dita->HTML and add a preview of the documents? That seems pretty useful. I think you tried it locally

We made progress on the refactor of find. It's around 80% done. I will try and deploy the DITA render tonight under the find2 UI. Lets review the site tomorrow and see what can be done

One "extra" feature we might consider would be the importing of DITA files into the Components table. Right now we just import the XML file itself in a folder and from what I can tell that is enough. I did implement a Component table and viewer for it. Lets discuss tomorrow
